LaJuana Wilcher addresses Southern Legislative Conference on Clean Water Rule

ELPO attorney and partner LaJuana Wilcher was a presenter at the 70th Annual Meeting of the Southern Legislative Conference (SLC) of The Council of State Governments held in Lexington, Kentucky. She addressed a session of the SLC’s Energy and Environment Committee on the EPA Clean Water Rule (Waters of the US, or WOTUS) on Sunday, July 10, and its status before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit, as well as its impact on the Southern region.The audience was comprised of legislators, legislative staff and select private sector participants from 15 Southern states.
According to the SLC, the organization’s annual meeting is the largest regional gathering of policymakers of its kind. Each year, the Annual Meeting provides state elected and appointed officials with an opportunity to share their experiences with other policymakers addressing similar issues across a broad spectrum. Regional and national policy experts address an array of topics germane to the Conference’s six standing committees, which serve as the foundation for policy discussions.
