While hunting for a part-time job in college, Jessica Surber landed a job working at ELPO. She served as a staff assistant for three years, and discovered a new-found love of the law. “You are constantly learning,” Jessica says. “I had never thought about going to law school until I started working here.”

She finished her accounting degree at Western Kentucky University and decided to pursue a law degree at the University of Kentucky College of Law. She clerked for ELPO for two summers during law school, gaining more valuable experience.

Jessica loves Bowling Green, and wanted to return home to the area, so Jessica joined ELPO in August 2012. “Bowling Green is a perfect mix,” Jessica says. “It has the amenities of a larger city but still has a small-town feeling.” Her favorite Bowling Green activities are attending outdoor concerts, dining at locally owned restaurants and sports games at Western. Jessica is a native of Franklin.
