Clerking at a law firm gives a law student a good idea of what it would be like to work there full-time. For Matt McGill, working as a summer associate at ELPO was such a positive experience he didn’t want to go anywhere else. “The attorneys and staff here work very hard and take their work seriously,” Matt says. “They really take time to help educate the young attorneys coming up in the ranks and work to help us learn the law and gain experience. I knew that this would be a good place to work by how they treated me during that summer.”

Work was not the only reason that Matt ended up as an attorney at ELPO. “I got to know the attorneys here outside of the office and, over the years, have become good friends with some of them. In my opinion, that is what separates ELPO from many other law firms.”

Matt feels that he’s learning from some of the best attorneys in the business, and that has prepared him well for handling his own cases.

“There is a great pool of resources at ELPO,” Matt says. “Three lawyers here are members of the American College of Trial Lawyers, which is a significant number for a firm our size.”

Matt handles civil litigation matters, primarily representing plaintiffs in serious injury and wrongful death lawsuits. He has represented individuals in a wide range of cases, including automobile and tractor trailer accidents, premises liability and products liability.

Matt is a native of Bowling Green and is married.
