Attorney Regina Jackson to speak on avoiding sexual harassment in the workplace

Regina Jackson, a partner and attorney at ELPO, will be a featured speaker at a Business at its Best workshop on December 14.

Her session is part of a half-day workshop presented by the Bowling Green Area Chamber of Commerce. The first part of the workshop, The Many Faces of Fraud, will be presented by FBI agent Aaron T. Rayburn. He will cover topics including financial fraud, insider trading, embezzlement, identity theft, scams, computer intrusion, intellectual property and much more. His portion of the workshop is from 9 to 10 a.m.

Regina’s workshop on Sexual Harassment Avoidance will be held from 10:30 to 11:15 a.m. Her portion of the workshop will include a discussion of current incidents giving rise to sexual harassment litigation and potential issues that put employers at risk for litigation. She will also discuss recent court cases involving sexual harassment, necessary provisions of a robust sexual harassment policy, sexual harassment training requirements, and tips for preventing sexual harassment claims at upcoming holiday parties.

Attendees are asked to bring their current harassment policies to review during the meeting.

This program has been approved for two specified credit hours for Human Resources Certification Institute (334491) towards Professional in Human Resources, Senior Professional in Human Resources and Global Professional in Human Resources recertification through the Human Resource Certification Institute and two specified credit hours for Society for Human Resource Management (17-JSQTJ) towards SHRM-Certified Professional and SHRM-Senior Certified Professional recertification.
