Overview

Nathan Vinson began practicing corporate and tax law in the state of Alabama, returning to Kentucky a few years ago and bringing with him extensive knowledge of federal tax law. Complementing his estate and probate practice here at ELPO, Nathan works with business owners and other individuals in business succession and tax planning. Nathan has a B.S. in Recording Industry from Middle Tennessee State University; a MBA from Eastern Kentucky University; a J.D. from the University of Kentucky (Magna Cum Laude); and a LL.M. in taxation from the University of Florida Levin College of Law.

Nathan works with business owners and executives, conducting tax analysis of mergers and acquisitions to determine the most efficient tax structures of transactions and operational and employment tax issues, just to name a few.  Along with tax advice, Nathan advises clients in business and transactional matters and drafts necessary transactional, operational, and corporate governance documents, depending on the client’s needs.

He also works with individuals on tax planning in connection with estate planning, and provides tax advice for individuals looking to sell or acquire assets. Good estate planning compliments Nathan’s probate practice, in which many tax issues and challenges can also arise.

Having a Masters of Business Administration, a law degree and an LL.M. are a great background for his work. Nathan says. “My LL.M. in taxation prepared me well for working on tax matters, and I’m very glad I took the time for that extra level of education.”

“Nathan Vinson and his team did an outstanding job representing our family with our father’s estate matters. This was a complicated case and very emotional for our family. However, Nathan and his team did everything in their power to assure our interests were met. They were extremely knowledgeable, informed, and very conscientious in handling all of the intricacies of the renunciation of our father’s last will and testament. Not only were they exemplary in their expertise of the law, they were compassionate and understanding of our feelings and frustrations with the issues of this case. They are organized and clear about what they need on my end and in how they explain document details and formality.
