Overview

Cody M. Conner is an associate attorney with a diverse background in corporate law, regulatory compliance, and construction litigation. Originally from Todd County, Kentucky, Cody moved to Middle Tennessee with his family when he was young. After completing high school, Cody attended Austin Peay State University, graduating summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science. He then pursued his dream of becoming an attorney at the University of Kentucky College of Law, earning his Juris Doctor in 2018. During his time at law school, Cody distinguished himself as a member of the National Moot Court Competition Team and contributed significantly to the legal discourse with his published article, “Thoroughbred Horse Racing: Why a Uniform Approach to Drug Regulation is Necessary,” Kentucky Journal of Equine, Agriculture & Natural Resources Law, Vol. 10, Issue 1, Article 8 (2017). Upon receiving his J.D., Cody returned to Tennessee to begin his legal career as an associate attorney for Daniel W. Small & Company. His tenure with the boutique firm, specializing in mergers and acquisitions, regulatory compliance, and corporate governance matters, provided him with invaluable experience. In March 2020, Cody transitioned to BuildLaw, PLC in Nashville, Tennessee, where he continued to excel in corporate governance matters, and gained additional experience through the representation of owners, developers, contractors, and subcontractors in the construction industry.

While most of Cody’s experience has been transactional, he has also assisted clients with litigation matters, leveraging his comprehensive understanding of both aspects of the legal practice. Cody’s commitment to integrity and professionalism allows him to consistently deliver exceptional service and results to his clients.

Outside of his legal career, Cody enjoys spending time with his wife, Ashley, and their dog Arlo in Russellville, Kentucky, where they recently purchased an historic home. They enjoy spending time together and attending sporting events cheering on both the Kentucky Wildcats and WKU Hilltoppers.
