Attorney Rebecca Simpson and team member Francisco Serrano spoke to students participating in the Kentucky Career Center Summer Youth Program on Wednesday, June 7. They discussed working for ELPO, the legal profession and the concepts of Ambition and Accountability.

The summer youth program is part of the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) youth program. Similar programs throughout the state help train youth ages 14 to 21 in workforce development. The program offers tutoring, job opportunities, seminars, occupational and leadership skills development and adult mentoring.

The Department of Workforce Investment Office of Employment and Training allocates the federal WIOA Title I youth funds to Kentucky’s 10 local workforce development areas.
