ELPO LAW ATTORNEY BOB YOUNG SECURES MILLION DOLLAR SETTLEMENT FOR INJURED TEEN

by Ashley Carter

What started as a wonderful trip visiting family turned tragic for one family from India.  Our 15-year-old client and his parents had traveled to Bowling Green, KY from India to visit their extended family.  On February 18, 2022, our client was the back seat passenger in a van being driven by his aunt. They were traveling northbound on Scottsville Road when their vehicle was struck head-on by a vehicle that turned in front them while attempting to make a left turn onto Cumberland Trace. Both vehicles sustained severe damages that required them to be towed from the scene. The front airbags of our client’s vehicle deployed from the impact of this collision.

Our client was unconscious upon arrival of the ambulance and was transported to a Bowling Green Fire Station before being flown to a trauma center located in Nashville, Tennessee.  He later was admitted to the Children’s Hospital where he remained hospitalized in serious condition from February 18 to March 3, 2022.  As a result of the accident, he suffered a closed head injury and a fracture of the parietal bone of his skull. Fortunately, due to both his youth and extensive physical therapy, he has made a good recovery.

Being a father himself, ELPO Law Attorney, Bob Young knew he had to do something to help this young man and his family. Without having to file suit, Bob was able to track down the at-fault driver’s liability insurance.  Because our client was not from the United States, he was uninsured and left with hundreds of thousands of dollars in unpaid medical bills.  Using his experience and legal aptitude, Bob fought hard and was able to secure a settlement of $1,050,000.00. In addition to resolving all medical bills, including payment to all medical providers, his settlement proceeds were placed into a structured settlement that will be payable to our client once he reaches the age of maturity.

If you or someone you know are in a wreck, our experienced Personal Injury attorneys can help.  There is no cost for an initial consultation with Bob or any of the ELPO Law Personal Injury attorneys to determine what the next steps might be. Attorneys like Bob will fight hard for you and/or your family so that you do not experience financial hardship over someone else’s negligence.
